Bromer Art Collection
The mountain as a guiding theme through modern art
Centrally located in Roggwil, canton Bern (Switzerland), the Bromer Art Collection (BAC) is a museum whose collecting activity focuses on mountain painting and contemporary art.
Established in 2011, it makes available to a wide audience part of the private collection of the museum’s founder, René Brogli, and organises temporary exhibitions featuring varied artistic positions and themes. In a building complex set in a park and designed by Munich-based architect Marie Aigner based on ideas by Bromer Architects, the private museum shows artworks from over five centuries. On more than 1500 m², the BAC’s exhibition, trade and collection strategy establishes a critical dialogue between the past and the present. Next to extensive exhibition and storage space, the museum facilities include a versatile multimedia room. The BAC further features a museum store with the region’s sole TASCHEN representation and a restaurant with an event forum. A contemporary art gallery rounds off the programme.
